A year ago today my debut novel, Invisible Orphans, was published. I am immensely proud of this book, these characters, and the story of grief and love that unfolds. Discussions of mental illness, suicide, and the importance of healing oneself are narratives that are often overlooked, and I think the story of Matthew, Vivi, and their friends and families is an important addition to this conversation.
